Why should I sign up on The Take//Two community?

Well here the answer is simple. Are you interested in film and series, acting and production, writing and creating? This is a community about all that and more. Here you will meet your tribe and be a part of it. We will keep you posted on upcoming projects, opportunities to work, collaborate with other creatives and grow your talent. Signing up is FREE. If we have already worked together, be it recently or a long way back when Take//Two was still in diapers taking its early steps, it is all the more important for you to be a part of our growing community. Things are changing. Take//Two is now involved in various productions both locally and overseas. We are expanding our team and are always on the lookout for all kinds of talent both for internally, homespun projects, collaborations locally and overseas and more. What we are creating here is a community to help each-other grow and achieve our dreams and potential. We look forward to having the chance to help you grow as you help us. Can I update my profile?

This is one of the main advantages of being part of the database. You can sign in with your username and password, and update your head shot, contact details and experience as you evolve as an artist.

I want to start out acting, how do I start?

For over 20 years, Take//Two has specialized in creating and producing high quality films and TV series that have helped to push the indigenous content creation and production industry forward and make Maltese content available to an international audience. One of our most cherished functions involves scouting, developing and encouraging upcoming talent in all spheres of the industry. This includes acting talent which is key to ensure the quality of the final product. Through our Acting Workshops we have had the opportunity of meeting and fostering the finest budding talent on the island, many of whom have gone on to join our more advanced boot camps and headed to a successful acting career. That said, there are many ways to embark on your acting career. It is just that here at Take Two we have our own special formula… and it works. This database is a means for us to keep an eye out for up and coming talent and for you to keep your finger on the pulse on up and coming local projects. You do not have to attend either an Acting Workshop or Boot Camp to have your profile on this database and it is also not targeted exclusively to actors. Indeed anyone with aspiration to be a part of this exciting industry be he Writer, Director, DOP, Arts Department, Producer, Designer, Sound, Photography…well basically, the works. Here we are creating a Vibrant Community of like minded creatives… from where to source talent for upcoming projects. We will keep you informed on all that is happening on the island and it is up to you to update your profile and keep us in the loop with what is going on with you and your art. What does a Take//Two acting workshop consist of?

Organized over a very exciting 2 days (weekend), The Take//Two acting workshop is an intensive 16 hour acting workshop that through a host of fun exercises involving a mixture of play and improvisation, character study, script analysis as well as practical acting in various genres covers the basics of what this profession demands and the opportunities available. Participants will be asked to create characters both for comedy and drama. They will be introduced to what the industry demands and how best to approach it. So if you are seriously interested in entering the exciting world of film, the Beginner’s Workshop is the ideal way to take your first steps, see what type of actor you have the potential of becoming and where you would like to head, while the Advanced Workshop will prepare you to face the industry at par. Under the guidance of Take//Two’s dynamic duo Abigail and Carlos you will be tested, pushed and prodded to achieve your potential. So if you want to refine your acting skills or just try something new, make new friends and become part of our exciting community, then these workshops are just what you’ve been looking for.

Are acting workshops available for children under 14 years of age?

Currently, these are available for 14+ but stay tuned to our social media pages for updates about this as we often host age specific workshops (e.g. Teenage, children’s etc.)

Are acting workshops available for English speakers?

Definitely. However, you need to be a proficient English speaker so as to be able to work with script as well as improvisation.

How often are Take//Two acting workshops organized?

Workshops are held at various points during the course of the year. Their frequency varies depending on the production commitments of the creative directors. However since it is our firm belief that the workshops, the talent they bring and the energy they foster are an integral part of the dynamic potency that is Take//Two creative communities, we are at the moment seeking to increase the number of workshops held annually. Will you offer writing workshops again?

We have long considered this and we can say we are presently in the process of designing an all new writer’s workshop. We will be keeping you updated.
